The Turkish-German Energy Partnership at StartUp-TalkX
The second edition of StartUp-TalkX, organised by the Türkisch-Deutsche Industrie- und Handelskammer (TD-IHK), brought together successful entrepreneurs from the Turkish, German, and international start-up communities. The event provided a platform for innovative pitches, engaging panel discussions, and valuable networking opportunities. It was held at the vibrant Engelnest Coworking Space in Berlin, itself an example of Turkish-German entrepreneurial success.
The evening began with a series of dynamic five-minute pitches from various start-ups, including energy innovators such as Scale Energy and Smartplant Group, who presented their products to an audience eager to learn about the latest trends in the industry. The panel discussions that followed offered practical insights into the start-up ecosystem, with experts sharing their knowledge on securing business ventures and navigating the challenges of entrepreneurship.
A notable contribution came from Tahar Kechrid, Senior Expert for Start-Up Ecosystems at the German Energy Agency (dena), who discussed ongoing efforts within the Turkish-German Energy Partnership and the dena Start-Up Energy Transition (SET) Hub to support start-ups. These discussions highlighted the importance of collaboration between Turkish and German start-ups in advancing the energy transition.
The event concluded with a lively networking session, where participants connected over drinks, snacks, and music, fostering new relationships within the start-up scene.
Each year dena’s SET Hub organises the Start Up Energy Transition Award in cooperation with the World Energy Council. Start-ups worldwide that are working on ideas affecting the global energy transition and climate change are encouraged to apply for the Start Up Energy Transition Award 2025.
