The Turkish-German Energy Partnership presenting at GeoTHERM

The Turkish-German Energy Partnership presenting at GeoTHERM

From 26th–27th February 2026, the international geothermal community will gather at GeoTHERM in Offenburg, located between Freiburg, Stuttgart and Strasbourg in the Upper Rhine Graben, one of Europe’s hotspots for deep geothermal energy.

The Turkish-German Energy Partnership will contribute to the congress with a presentation on Thursday, February 26 at 4:10 p.m. @Dr. Heiner Mentzel of @Vulcan Energy Resources will present the results of a study on the potential of building cooling with deep geothermal energy. The study compares absorption, adsorption and steam jet cooling systems with conventional electric cooling, highlighting efficiency, cost-effectiveness and CO₂ savings.

The findings show that geothermal cooling is not only environmentally sound but also economically competitive, especially when existing geothermal infrastructure is utilised. The presentation will provide concrete implementation models and impulses for international cooperation and project development.

GeoTHERM is the place to discover innovative solutions for geothermal energy. More than 280 international exhibitors will participate, and the congress programme will be translated into English, German and French.
