Türkiye is one of the ten largest producers of agricultural products. Half of the country's land area is used for this purpose. The favourable climate makes it possible to grow a wide variety of crops. At the same time, the country is severely affected by the effects of climate change, which is already leading to lower yields and will continue to do so. When it comes to energy production, Türkiye has very good conditions for the use of photovoltaics to generate electricity.
The approach pursued by agrivoltaics is to combine the two types of land use and thus exploit the advantages for agriculture.
As part of the Turkish-German Energy Partnership , we invite you to attend our workshop on agrivoltaics to learn about technological developments, regulatory frameworks and specific project examples related to agrivoltaics in both countries. The discussion will provide an opportunity to identify ways to remove barriers to the expansion of agrivoltaics systems.
